JOB SUMMARY
Demonstrates compassion, respect and caring while working within the scope of practice of "Physician" to provide safe and efficient care to patients and assistance to their families and visitors. Works collaboratively with all other healthcare team members toward the best outcomes for the patient and the organization. Provides professional services to the hospital and its patients.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Practice of medicine within the scope of license, training and credentialing.
2. Practice of medicine in accordance with the current standards of care as well as the quality criteria adopted by the clinic.
3. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual patient care appropriate to the age of patients served by demonstrating knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
- Awarded degree of M.D. or D.O. with ABIM recognized internal medicine residency (3 years minimum).
- American Board Certification in Internal Medicine currently valid and renewed (if needed) prior to expiration.
- American Board eligible or certified in pulmonary medicine and maintains certification by renewal examination.
- American Board eligible or certified in critical care and maintains certification by renewal examination.
EXPERIENCE/TRAINING: ' Demonstrated expertise in clinical management of patients.
' Maintains current knowledge and skills with continuing education.
' Must meet all training requirements for specific department.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: ' Licensed to practice as a physician in the State Board Certified.
' Federal DEA Number.
' Current CPR certification required.
' Able to meet requirements for medical staff membership at PeaceHealth Whatcom Region.
OTHER SKILLS:
Prefer leadership background in Pulmonary/Critical Care.
' Demonstrated competency in leadership and management skills.
' Computer experience required.
' Able to work varied hours; rigorous on-call and call-back schedule.
' Must not be a practitioner excluded from participation in the Medicare or Medicaid program.
